Re: K53TA.. The best deal ever... could be!
That gives me 2.3 ghz
My temps run about 76 gaming an hour or so.
When you set it just hit apply unless you use a little bat file (found in this thread) you will have to reboot for the settings to go back to normal. I avoided this by setting a stock profile I can change.
This may help

Re: K53TA.. The best deal ever... could be!
well it worked lol thanks, playing saints row the third didnt overly heat it up., was running at 67ish. but i did notice a bit of weird unstableness after i exited the game, i went an tried to do a cpu score, an it said windows explorer shut down or what ever error, an then was still up around 65on the ttcl, mouse movement was chopy, is fine now, but i also noticed the powergear app switched to entertainment and the start menu bar was blue insted of black weird??? anyone else? so i cannot finish the cpu score processe while clocked at this speed, explorer keeps closing, highest temp i did notice was 72....hmm little weird notice the power gear switches automaticaly, an even after the program quit (the cpu score) the menu bar stays stuck blue, as if it was in entertainment setting, try playin with it an then it finaly decided to swtich back....

Re: K53TA.. The best deal ever... could be!
First of all... is this computer able to get the bios 209? It doesn't show it as a download option for this computer in the drivers area of the asus website.
Someone used this settup and stress tested it 100% for 9 hours and it was at 85C.

All I know is that my pc never uses its boost for some reason
I'm personally wondering if you can have just the 0P and 1P the same and all the others lower and it will stay like that number you set them to
Thats odd? Did you update everything on your computer? It is essential that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and such, bios, chip update. And yes something must be wrong since ANY game single player can be handled from this PC....Last edited by zyromkiru; 23rd December 2011 at 03:36 PM.

Re: K53TA.. The best deal ever... could be!
In your k10stat settings, make sure you have your cores set to UnGanged mode if you want boost to work. When it is set to ganged or if you have clock control enabled plus locked at the highest p-state, boost will not activate.
If neither of those is the problem, your CPU may not like the speed and voltage of your boost state, so it will lock that core when it activates. That core will kick back down to P and it will likely happen so fast you don't even notice or crash. Try kicking up the voltage on your b0.
The profile I use for gaming is 2.2GHz all p's @1.0875V and b0 of 2.3GHz @1.15V. I've gotten the best balance of benchmarks, temperatures and stability here. Not as power thrifty as some or as fast as others, but rock solid.
Also, I just came across an identical Samsung 4GB module, same run to replace my g.Skill. It's super-symmetrical-dual-channel.The Old Lion: G50VT-X1:

Re: K53TA.. The best deal ever... could be!
So any update on how to OC the dGPU? Still got to use the old drivers, and mess around with .reg, .ini., and .cfg files? Newegg has this a referb of this up, and was thining of trading in my dv6-6117 for this, but was just wondering how the OC was.
