I do. And probably a lot of others too. The interface is nicer, plus I get to choose the codecs (for example CoreAVC) and filters. I do have VLC as well though. I believe the quality of VLC output has been improving, so it's not a bad choise (anymore).

(And to be precise, I'm using Media Player Classic Home Cinema, not to be mixed up with Windows Media Player)

Also, has anyone (Itaru, Nautis...) made any progress on the 194.45 drivers? Or updating the Intel drivers to a newer version since the last posts?

I will be receiving my notebook soon...would love to have up to date drivers...and absolutely willing to assist with testing, whatever, to make it happen.

The most up to date driver for the Nvidia G210M is the 197.16 as listed on the nvidia website

Okay, I've read through most of this thread, but either I'm too tired, or there's too much info here now. What I'd like to find out is, is there a (fairly easy) way to upgrade the Intel drivers on my UL30VT? Upgrading the Nvidia drivers would be nice, too, but at the moment, I'm not running any games that really stress the G210M. I'm more interested in enabling Flash acceleration on the Intel side, so that I can get better Flash performance during normal, power-saving web surfing.

I'm sorry if this has been answered already, but like I said, I'm having some trouble wading through the entire thread to find the correct info.

Sadly, unless I am mistaken, no one has been able to install a newer working version of the Intel drivers.

That said, you should be able to enable Flash hardware acceleration on the Intel card as is by downloading the newest (10.1) version of the Flash software.

(EDIT: Here is the link to the Adobe Labs page with the RC of Flash 10.1

Adobe Labs - Downloads: Flash Player 10 Prereleases

Keep in mind that this is a beta, not a full release version, and as
such it is likely to have bugs or other problems.)

jordanpatrick, I checked the versions of Intel driver that supposedly have Flash HW acceleration, and it doesn't look like what's in the UL30VT will work. I did, in fact, install Flash 10.1 beta, and it doesn't seem to be any better than before. I'll double-check tonight when I'm home, to be sure. Could be a case of too tired or just plain user idiocy

Ah, I see...it could very well be my mistake then. I didn't actually check to see that the Intel drivers support the hardware acceleration for Flash, I just assumed the compatibility for it would be all on Adobe's end.

can anyone try l4d with the modified driver? apparently there is something like a 30% increase which would be significant for me.

I tried and it plays fine. (but no comparison available - I did not tried that on an earlier driver...)

To others - have someone already tried the new Nvidia WHQL 257.21 for notebooks?
