Thanks Justin.
Hopefully they do come out with more powerful chip in the same form factor to allow for better video editing and gaming. For now I'll just have to wait and see...

It's going to be a while........ I mean, do you know how small a W3 is? Most everyone would agree it's amazing they stuffed what they did in there... there is a reason this is the only computer this small that has a dedicated 64mb x600 in it..... so Asus is a little ahead of the curve on this one as it is.

Thanks,
Justin

I bought Asus A2H 2.8 Ghz notebook w/o OS. After installing Windows XP, I found out that its video uses shared memory. I'm fairly new when it comes to notebook hardware, my main problem is that most of the laptop that I've seen at work, when you look at the scree from any angles, the display is still the same. With the Asus A2H that I bought, you can barely see the images when you tilt the screen down or up or when you look from the side angles. Does this have anything to do with the XGA, SVGA, or VGA displays?

Hi, just found this forum.
I just got into my L3800/C (L3800C) to check the ATI fan out (it growls )

Cleaned it up and applied a small amount of 5-56 - so i'll just wait and see if that did the trick.

I did not find a manual for this model either, and it was really hard to find out how to get into it.
Finally i found a small hole just below the left screen hinge. Press the "button" inside that hole with a small screwdriver and slide the top of the keyboard cover to the left - and then you can start removing the screws under the keyboard. Combined with all the screws under the laptop it will get you in

/K
PS I have some pics as well, but this forum doesnt seem to allow to post pics. PM me if you are interested...

Update:
A lot of people seems to be interested in how to get into the notebook, so i will post the instruction + pics here now
(Wonder why this is the case just about 3 years after purchase !? . . . )

To open it up, unscrew all screws underneath, then insert a paper clip or similar into the small hole above the keyboard (see pic) and slide panel to the left. After that you can remove 4-5 screws which holds it together. Then you will in the laptop and canstart removing everything to get to the bottom where the fan is.
