Re: g50v in HK?
You can check 灣仔電腦城 (Wan Chai Computer Centre) or 黃金電腦商場/高登電腦中心 (Golden computer arcade/centre) in 深水埗 - shum shui po. Not sure about the release date there though....
Prices in HK will most likely be more expensive than in the US/Canada, even after you factor in the shipping costs.
The only Canadian store that I know sells the G50 is NCIX, however, they charge quite a bit more compared to the US resellers. Gentechpc (in california) ships to canada, so that could also be another option.ASUS U36JC-A1 w/ Intel 6300 wifi || G.Skill 256GB SSD

Re: g50v in HK?
Thanks emporiumboutique, I went on the NCIX website and the ASUS G50V is not even listed it says: "This product is available but currently we do not have stock - order it today and we will ship when it's available."
Here's the Link:

I just hope they get the specs on their website soon cause I want mine similar to that of GenTechPC plus all the goodies i.e. mouse, carrying case.Last edited by mautbur; 11th August 2008 at 01:29 AM. Reason: editing

Re: g50v in HK?
Even in the US, the G50V-A1 is out of stock. However, the next shipment should arrive some time this week or early next week.
The mouse and carrying case will come with it. It's only if you purchase it from Best Buy do they exclude these accessories.ASUS U36JC-A1 w/ Intel 6300 wifi || G.Skill 256GB SSD

Re: g50v in HK?
the problem with gentechpc.com is that they only accept u.s. issued credit cards. that really screwed me over =S
so i scoured the internet and found what i believe to be the only place in canada that has the g50v in stock: pcvonline.com
They are a canadian based company with several locations in toronto and the surrounding area. they totally saved my life, as i need this laptop for school in september. they ordered one for me and im picking it up TOMORROW. i cant wait!!!

Re: g50v in HK?
Thanks MLCflamethrower, you saved my day. Cool now back to business do the ASUS G50V they have in stock come with a 2.0 Mega Pixel webcam? and secondly when I converted the price from US dollars into Canadian dollars actually I was surprised the Canadian one's were cheaper lol.
Also please don't forget to give a nice review of the laptop and also about the type of customer care you got.
Thanks,

Wan Chai Computer Centre FTW
(that's where I got my W7Sg). Make sure you see the sealed box before you buy, though. And try it out so that it starts on the spot. Check the warranty sticker on the bottom of the notebook for "24M warranty". Don't forget to ask for discounts/freebies (especially if you pay cash, they should offer you a discount because they don't have to pay a credit card surcharge)
(As a European I'm always very cautious of buying from Asians; whenever I talked to shop salespersons in Hong Kong I felt that a neon sign saying 'European Sucker' was marquee-ing on my forehead)Notebooks: ASUS F6Ve --- W7Sg --- V6J --- M6BNe
