Gonna buy ASUS F8VA-B1 in a few hours...worth the buying???

Now the title seem misleading, I've waited a long time (a week ) for the new montevina platform laptop...

so I'm going to drive to Canada COmputers in Hamilton in about half an hour, and well here is the link:

well everytime I buy a new product, I have a feeling which I can't describe (but something that is a bit bad)...

so I've read the review for this laptop from this forums, and it sounds better than the F8Sn-C1... is it??? (cuz I really don't have any idea what that 3DMark score is ...anyone like to clearify what that is???) and give me more little reviews/encouragements to buy this beast...hehe

and btw, I'm going into Systems Design Engineering in this Fall 2008 and well I figure that the GPU is very well suited for it...would this laptop be one of the best laptops for engineering student??? (I decided on buying a Macbook Pro until yesterday night until I've heard that Mac OS is incompatible for programs that engineering students use...and well I stayed up overnight looking for a PC and found this ASUS F8VA-B1 laptop...hehe )

Yes, the F8SN-C1 will the more powerful notebook in terms of both CPU and GPU. I'd say go with that even though it's not a Montevina platform

If you have the chance of upgrading the CPU go with P9500. (that's what I am planning to do)... faster than p8600, has twice as large cache and consumes the same amount of power... Now it will be better than F8SN-C1...

I think choice is right
V8Va-B1 has more than enough of processing power for Design and Engineering
All the CAD/CAM programs will run nice. Programming will be OK too (MatLab Java, etc.)
Size and weight are optimized for a campus student
USB ports and their location and positioning are real advantage 0f F8 notebooks

If I were you, I would not be too eager to buy it in its second week. There may be a problem in the first batch which will be fixed later. So it's always a good idea to wait for at least 3-4 weeks and during this time read the reviews of early birds so you will have better chance of knowing what you are gonna buy. Right now you only know the specs...
