Re: Asus c90 bluescreen...
I don't know Everest but there's a tiny program called CPU-Z that gives you all the information about the RAM in a clear format, including the slot in which the RAM is.

Re: Asus c90 bluescreen...
Argh the manufacturer field is not set in the RAM firmware (FFFFFFFFF...) That usually means the memory is noname...
Do you have the possibility of running the notbeook with another RAM? Without buying it? Check the list of Approved/Tested RAM for C90 (I think it might be around here on the forums; I know for instance that SuperTalent RAM is supported)
Then if it runs you have good arguments to return the current RAM and buy something which is known to work with the C90.
Also, do the memtest86+ memory test if you didn't already. Vista also has a memory tester built-in.Last edited by E.B.E.; 1st December 2007 at 05:35 AM.

Re: Asus c90 bluescreen...
I dont have the opportunity to try with another RAM... But how does a check with memtest and Vista? And could you link me to the side with supported RAM?
Maybe i should call the manufacture and ask wich RAM they have placed in my comp.?

Re: Asus c90 bluescreen...
memtest86+ is easy. Google for it, download the ISO, burn it (as an image, not as data) to a CD, and boot from that CD (ESC at ASUS splashscreen, select CD/DVD on the ensuing popup)
Then let it do its thing. Best done overnight or when you're away it takes a while.
I do not have the link to the list of supported RAM unfortunately... try search on this forum, and otherwise google: search for "C90 supported RAM", and "ASUS C90 supported RAM" for google.
Maybe one of the resellers knows better.
To check the type, rather than calling, I'd first see if there is a quick-access panel to the RAM on the bottom of the notebook. It should have a sign like a small squarish bug with a few legs
-- that's the RAM chip symbol). Remove the screws, take away the panel, and the RAM chip should be there, you can read its name (if it has any...)

Re: Asus c90 bluescreen...
It's a c90, so it's the big fat panel. Take the 4 screws off; 2 on the right of the turbo engine, 1 left and 1 somewhere in the middle. To take off the panel pull from the TurboEngine side. The RAM location is furthest away from the TurboEngine/Fans. The revision of the motherboard is on the sticker stuck on the RAM slot(usually green). To check the type, rather than calling, I'd first see if there is a quick-access panel to the RAM on the bottom of the notebook. Re: Asus c90 bluescreen...
It can be many things. Please, run memtest86+ to get that possible cause out of the way.
I think my M6Ne original RAM was Elpida. The 256MB stick I'm still using in it works just fine. Still, Elpida sounds to me like noname -- but SuperTalent sounds just the same.
Regardless, I don't think Elpida is on the list of tested RAM types for the C90.Notebooks: ASUS F6Ve --- W7Sg --- V6J --- M6BNe

Vestlia, sorry man I don't know what the field for OC would be called in Nor, but I gave instructions in the English equivalent field under the Everest links. If you could use Babelfish to translate them you would be able to translate them or something similar to translate them you would see where to go. I had a migraine right now or I would do the work for you, need sleep and food (can't live without checking my email).
