dif between 1.3MP and 0.3MP webcam?

Hi guys, I'm looking to either buy the Asus A8JS or the F3JP since I want something portable that can play games. However, I also want a good webcam to talk to my gf who is going on co-op. I know the A8JS has a 0.3MP webcam while the F3JP has a 1.3MP webcam, but how much difference is there between the picture quality. I was leaning towards the A8JS since it is 14" and more portable....but I still want my gf to be able to see me and not just a blurry mess.

Also, I heard from someone that the webcam is of the same quality (640x480) for both 1.3MP and 0.3MP, the only difference is software? I'm not very tech knowledgeable so I'm not sure if that is true...any suggestions/insights? Thanks guys!

The 1.3MP camera is more than 4 times better. .3 megapixel = 300 pixels whereas the 1.3 is 1300 pixels.

Can anyone post pics showing difference between 1.3MP and 0.3MP? If the difference is not really noticeable then I think I will want the 14" portability that the A8JS offers.

Which laptop would you guys choose?

1.3 is still pretty crap. i have it on my G1, and its pretty poor. however it is much better than the 0.3MP. my laptop is at home at the mo so can't post any pics. maybe tomorrow.

If a web cam is so important, i recomend getting an aftermarket one from logitech, which support better frame rates, and if your willing to spend the money, more pixels.

There is quite a big difference. The max resolution for the .3MP is 640x480 while the 1.3MP has 1280x1024. I dont think there is a notebook out there with a build in cam better than 1.3MP

Both the A8Js and F3Jp use the exact same web cam..... some websites advertise them as 1.3MP and others as 0.3MP...

Both are actually true....what it refers to is...

1.3MP with photo taking.... and 0.3MP with video.

Trust me...as a user of a A8J series notebook, I've tested the webcam in an out.

My post was simply saying that 1.3 is more than fore times as much as .3, which is true. I never had an Asus so I wouldn't know about the rest. Lordgoof, please educate is.

Hmn the A8J's does say vga video, while the F3Jp does say 1.3 pixel camera.
You could be right dunno but 1.3MP is better quality than .3MP.

Though I am pretty the .3MP refers to both video and camera for A8J's,
while the 1.3MP refers to the camera and vga for video for F3Jp.

My friends phone says 1.3 and it can take pictures up to 1280x1024 in resolution,
mine says vga and i can only take up to 680x460, that pretty much applies to this.
