Re: W7J Owners' Lounge
OK, the repetitive topic about how much memory you can stick in (slightly) older systems..... but that's ok
.
2GB RAM sticks weren't available or really even in production when Asus released the W7 18 months ago to spec into the system, so 1GB was the max added memory that they tested -- hence the 1.5 published max. However, multiple users have reported no problems with 2GB sticks in the system, which are now readily available and reasonably priced. You'll be fine as long as you match the correct ram freq.Current notebook: MacBook Aluminum (late '08) OS X 10.8

any 2gb SODIMM will work fine, as long as it is DDR2.

Re: W7J Owners' Lounge
Very easy. 1 screw, and then just pop the little plastic door off, and viola, you can easily access the stick of RAM. Swapping the RAM on my W7S took me less than 2 minutes.

Re: W7J Owners' Lounge
Couple questions...
How can I tell the speed of my current ram?
What type of improvement will I notice in multi-tasking with winxp, as programs don't fire up that quickly with the 1 gig of ram I have. Notebook is the W7J duo T2400 @ 1.83GHz.
Thanks!
