Hi everyone, I just got myself a G53SW-XN1 and am very happy with it.

I noticed however, that the touchpad is acting very weird (jumps around when tapped, fixed after reboot). After a few minutes searching, i found this fix and it seems pretty simple.

My question is does it void your warranty at all?? i.e. does it involve tearing any warranty sticker?
    Any link to useful video?

    Thanks and Cheers everyone

I would call them and find out; however, their support is pretty bad so if you can avoid it, don't send it in. They can take forever, break things that weren't broken, and not even fix the problem.

If they say it voids the warranty, maybe you could try to still do it, but in a way were they can't tell you did it. There is no warrenty sticker to break under the touch pad, or in any area you would be working in that fix.

Thanks for your response, so which part has the warranty seal? Does adding RAM/HDD/SSD involve tampering any seal?

RAM and HDDs won't void your warranty.

Honestly, I opened up the laptop at least 10 times, and never saw a seal, but I really wasn't looking for one. I added an ssd, and replaced the wireless card, but had to unhook the touchpad, and the other things under the keyboard, to be able to reach the rest.

Like tijo said, the warranty won't be voided by upgrading you ram and hdd, but they won't fix it if that is the source of the problem.

When you replace the fourth RAM stick I believe there's a seal you have to break to get to it, I only had mine for a couple days though, so I don't remember all that well.

If the G53s are like the G73s, the only warranty seal will be on the CPU heatsink.

I opened it up. No warranty seal. ASUS RMA used to be good but now its bad for some reason... IT TOOK THEM 30 DAYS TO GET MY LAPTOP FIXED. My previous 2 RMAs went through smooth, one week turnaround. The last one was just horrible, no information until the last min.

    hi guys,
    i have some question about g53sw :

some time agoi i heard that this note was usual to throttle in game with high cpu and gpu stress, has this problem been solved ?

do you suggest me to buy this with gtx460 instead of the newer g53sx with gtx 560 ? i can find the G53SW-IX069V (1366x768) at 940€.

    Thank you so much
