Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
Has anyone figured out the webcam issues yet?
From what I can discover it's something to do with the whitebalance (??) or room darkness compensator (works fine in a super bright room). I've tried a bunch of new drivers from the asus site (under camera) and they all come up with the error usb2.0 VGA/1.3m/2M WebCam (that's all it says)...
Any suggestions? This thing is choppy as all hell, no matter the software

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
Hey. I have had my N53SV-XV1 for a year now and have an issue with my camera (Started about 4-5 month ago) where it does not connect or shows up in selection menus. The only video device thats showni s USB Video Device. When selected the program will eather crash or deselect it (Like Skype). I tried to install drivers for it but only get error from all drivers posted on ASUS site saying "error usb 2.0 VGA/... ". Any help would be helpful. The hardware ID's are
USB\VID_174F&PID_1718&REV_0104&MI_00
USB\VID_174F&PID_1718&MI_00
P.S Downloading from the ASUS driver serach website does not produce a driver that installs...any help is appreciated.

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
I've N53SN slightly over a year now and saw a deterioration on the battery, from 30+ percent to now over 82 percent

Have tried to do a full battery discharge several times but that does not help.
Anybody else facing the same problem?

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
So, after a few months now my N53SV got louder and hotter. idle cpu temp is 60C, when busy almost 85C. Fan went really louder, but it's not in dust. Maybe it's because I installed second HDD?

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
Without power supply, this notebook can only last about 10~15 mins before it gets into hibernation mode.
Having owned several notebooks, thus Asus battery just earned the Worse Battery record.
I wouldn't be getting a replacement battery... rather get a new 3rd generation notebook after Windows 8 is launched.

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
After a year with Asus I finally understand.
When you buy asus you get performance, but it won't last long. When you buy toshiba or apple you get quality.N53SN-SX128
