Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
"Power up mobile devices in less time and using lower energy consumption, even with the notebook turned off. USB Charger+ features a powered USB port with a direct connection to the notebook’s battery to make sure devices are recharged in a fraction of the time a traditional USB port would require, so you’re always charged up and in peak performance. "
Doesn't this imply that there's a hardware side to it too though? If so, the driver won't make much of a difference.

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
It seems that it's chipset functionality, not add-on hardware. That said, the power circuitry and all parts feeding the usb needs to be able to supply the 2+ Amperes.

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
Hey guys, I've been having problems with HDMI cables on this machine, have tried a few and just received a 9 metre, $10 one from china... Anyway, it didn't work, it seemed really hit and miss, until I remembered that my old one only worked if i jammed it right in.
I couldn't jam this one in any further, so what I did was grab a stanley knife and shave the rubber off around the end of the cable. This revealed about 2mm more cable and was enough to easily penetrate the hdmi port to the required level.
So yeh, if it's a cheap cable, give it a shot, the HDMI port on these things seems to be too shallow.

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
I made a post a while back on here showing about how much I had to shave off to make it work. I bought a new HDMI a while back and it works perfectly without any shortening necessary. Unless they've changed since I last bought them, these should work with the laptop.

Re: Asus N53SV & N53SN SandyBridge Owner Thread
Guys, do you use Asus Live Update utility? Ever seen it working, finding un update or something? I have v2.5.9 and it seems it's doing nothing. Is there any new version or should I just uninstall it?
Thanks

No, I don't use it. I've seen it work once... sort of. You can always check the ASUS website or get the info about the updates here.
Just uninstall it.
You may also want to check Asus Utility and Bloatware Guide.
