Re: Asus G73JW Owners' Lounge
If you have the A1 model with dual HDDs - you can remove the C: drive from it's tray and install the SSD in that tray.
If you have a model that only has one HDD - then you will have to buy a tray from the SSD. The G73JW has room for two trays - and they are different (left/right) - when I bought my G73 - I knew I was planning to have an SSD - and thought about getting a model with only one HDD - but found out that noone (anywhere) had the 2nd disk tray in stock for purchase. So I ended up getting the A1 - to make sure I could have both an SSD & HDD in the system.
Though it does look like you might be able to jury-rig something to get the SSD to fit snugly without the tray - I just didn't want to take chance of doing that without the correct tray.

Re: Asus G73JW Owners' Lounge
Has anyone had any success with using skype and this webcam. I have the azure webcam and it is pretty much useless. I have also installed the latest drivers from asus but it made no difference. Its very laggy and choppy. Thanks

Re: Asus G73JW Owners' Lounge
New nvidia drivers OUT, version 265.66!
Windows rating on the graphics went down to 6.0 (so strange) but the actual performance in games, like bfbc2 is much better!
Edit: did the windows rating again and now it gives me 7.1.....Last edited by fwa; 13th December 2010 at 03:48 PM.

Re: Asus G73JW Owners' Lounge
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
Finally some REAL 26x.xx WHQL drivers for our 460m. Strangely not linked in the g73jw section.
Didn't run any benchmarks, but loaded up Fallout New Vegas which was problematic with all the previous drivers which installed on the g73jw without modding the inf. No weird sun spots with AA enabled, no stuttering. Those two items were fixed in 260.99 so this driver is definitely a step up from that. This ones a keeper, I recommend it over all the previous ones (especially the god-awful 261.14 release, hopefully none of you were actually USING that version!)

Re: Asus G73JW Owners' Lounge
UPDATE 14/12-10
Many have already seen the new Drivers that have coming out for the Nvidia cards (265.66) Many wonders if it was any difference when it comes to performances, so I made a test here!
I ran 2 times just to be sure!
GUIDE
NOTE IM RUNNING THE OVERCLOCK SETTING AS I MENTION IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS GUIDE!
Test Run 1 265.66!

Test Run 2 265.66!

Latest/Old Result with 260.99!

Summary
It actaully gaved me some more FPS and it increased the FPS average a little bit in some parts. If we dont count with the CPU score, it is almost 500 points different, so I can confirm that this drivers actaully performance better. But Im still testing and more updates to come!
Best Regards and good luck i7.Asus
!
