I noticed a little improvement with Nvidia latest driver, version 275.33. The WEI (Windows Experience Index) score for the graphic card is increased with this version. I would guess the new score is based on the GT335M GPU performance instead of Intel HD Graphics one. With older Nvidia driver, version 270.61, overall WEI score is 4.1 while with version 275.33, the overall WEI score is 5.3. Please see pictures below.

I found BIOS "Setup Engine" module (BIOS setup menu) in the BIOS. Plenty of options available, including hidden options. One thing that got my attention is "Primary Display" menu. Unfortunately, I don't know how to unhidden them yet.

I don't know but with that menu, we can choose between IGD, PEG & PCI. IGD stand for internal graphic device (Intel HD), PEG stand for PCI Express Graphics (dedicated GPU, for example Nvidia) & PCI (probably any GPU connected to PCI interface) as primary device. I'm skeptical that this menu can set Nvidia as primary though (Optmus off). If there is no physical wiring between Nvidia & display, setting to PEG will only causing blank screen.

I'm having a serious problem with my notebook. I was using it (just playing a game), and out of nowhere the power shut off. I tried to turn it back on, and the power light flashed, but nothing else happened. I've tried recharging it (although it was plugged in at the time and the battery was at ~70%), as well as other things like removing the battery and power cable, holding the power button for 30 seconds and then putting everything back, etc. Nothing seems to work.

I've managed to get the little lightbulb light to turn on as well as the light that shows that it's charging, but that's all. Does anyone have any suggestions? It's still under warranty so I could have it sent in, but school starts in a couple of days so I'd really like to avoid it if at all possible.

Usually notebook turn off itself for three reason:-
    - Overheating
    - Hardware failure
    - CPU/GPU/any component trying to consume more power than the AC adapter/battery can provide (true for Dell but not sure for others)

Overheating & power issue are recoverable. For overheating, just let it cool down while for power issue, just need to disconnect both AC adapter & battery for a couple of minutes.

Look like yours is hardware problem. I recommend send it to Asus for repair. Do not try fix this yourself.

Wow, it has been 4 days and they still haven't replied to the technical inquiry, even though they said they would likely reply within 48 hours. Is this normal?
