    Hi Angel,

Could you elaborate on the ASME temp control? Where/how can I find the modded bios and control files? Working with a HD4670 in a C90 and I was planning on hardwiring the fan. Obviously, if it can be done in SW that's a *lot* better.

PS: thanks 9800xpv to point me to this thread.

    Hello Angel,

I wonder if you are still running your peltier cooling ?

I've bought another C90S with a faulty video card. And I'll try your ideas _ just above _ about cooling.
I must say I drilled holes in the backplate of my 1st C90S, and I'm using a notebook cooler. I'm disappointed because the temperatures are always climbing high when playing games .
So you are right : it is not a good solution. I'm wrong.
I'll try to make an airflow through the C90S, from the HDD, or southbridge ? Both ? to the fans.

    Hello Angel,

I've quickly done these points from post #100 :
    3, all holes sealed,
    4 : mesh removed,
5 : sealed holes with tape,
    6 : mesh removed,
8 : holes drilled in front of HDD,

I must say it is already working, yes it is.

1, 2, 7 remain to be done, soon I expect.

    Thanks alot Angel.

Please, a question about the fans :
Everyone say they are under control of the CPU.
But I'm not sure about this which is in front of the GPU's heatsink.
Could you tell me more, if you have any answer ?

    Hello Angel,

    Thanks alot.

I found this post from RGS.

We can see how the thermal policy is working on a C90S.
If someone could mod the bios to get the fan begin to spin up from 40°C or 45°C instead of 50°C, that should be fine for our video cards.

    So long,

    Hello Angel,

    Thanks alot Angel.
In my mind, I imagined that if fans could start early, the C90S should be much cooled.

My C90S is no longer used for gaming, or just a little. My daughter uses it to draw with a WACOM tablet. She is fond of artistic drawing.
I don't want to use another CPU, in a few months I expect to have another notebook.

I love the C90S because it is possible to change everything almost easily as for a desktop. I wouldn't have bought the C90S if it had been impossible or difficult to do that. I like that.

So, what will be the next notebook ?
The notebook is always at the same place, and my daughter is drawing
    => so I choose a 17" .
    We want a lit keyboard.

    => ASUS G73Jh
    => ALIENWARE M17X.

I think to change any component on the G73 will be difficult.
But it should be easier on the M17X.
But the M17x will cost much money.

At the moment, I don't know which I'll choose.

If you have any idea, please feel free to explain them.

    Hello Angel,

    Many thanks.

Just to say that the ASUS G73Jh seems to be rather silent, stealth as they say.

    Thanks for the links.

About the M17x, in case I choose it, I should plan to get a refurbished one, it costs less money. Here is the link in UK. 1 year warranty.

But I should buy the G73Jh as new, warranty is 2 years + 1 year optional.

Clevo : I must see more, I've only see like a glance.

I'll ask my daughter about some pictures, she's currently at school.

Yes, cooling the C90S is now difficult without any help from ASUS.

    So long.

    Hello,

    Bonjour Angel,
Now I think to perhaps do such like you, adding a SSD. :/

Please, do you think this optical bay could work on a C90S ?

    Thanks alot,

    A bientôt,
    Alain

Hello Angel! (And other C90 enthusiastic people)

A friend of mine has a C90S and i was inspired by this thread from helping him and reading that i brought a used/broken C90S from ebay (and got it working now). I will like many other rip into it and replace parts. And had to register to thank people for their hard work.

I'm looking forward to the plans of the mobile ASME.
    Who needs CD/DVD anyway?

Thank you for your hard work, i will certainly continue to read on progress.

    Regards

    Joseph
