Doing race driver grid bench now.

Game would not start, apparently it has an issue with the hyperthreading of an i7 so I had to find a fix for it.

Grid is up, but something strange about the game, I get a ranom super boost of real time speed. Like I am driving along and BAM I jump like 3 seconds in the future of where I would be if I kept driving. Framerate was excellent though even maxed out. Next up is.... Mass Effect

+ Rep from me too...no regrets moving to the N71 due to not being a huge gamer but I'm still very interested in this great laptop!

Well Done!

+REP from a noob... it may not hold as much weight as from the rank and file of this forum, but without you guys putting in the time and energy, we'd never get out of our noobishness... sometimes it's good to be the sponge... (for those of you not used to American slang... sponge = soaking it all in).

I agree with your review. This is the best laptop for the money from what I've seen available. If you need more, you can get that, but you will be spending 2X at minimum to get that increase in performance and it may not be that much.

Also this laptop is simply a beauty. As Vicious said you can use this in an office setting. I've already used this in a demonstration and people who have no idea about laptops asked if this was the newest MacBook. As they assume only Mac makes sleek, incredible looking notebooks. I personally was insulted and ignored half of them.

And I showed this off personally to a co-worker whom I'm on a friendly basis with it. First two things he said were. Wow, this is really light, I was expecting this to be heavier. And the last part, I didn't even tell him this, he looked at it. Look at these angles, the subtle matte black, dude this looks like a stealth fighter. I told him yep, that's what the design influence for this was. I was impressed that he immediately got that impression without me telling him that.

Hey Vic you wouldnt happen to have a spectrophotometer or a colour analyser so we could get some actual numbers on this gorgeous screen..

Also, since there's so much debate about how this thing is cooling.. some people saying pulling air from above KB, some saying from bottom. Would u mind running some smoke or something through the machine while it's stressed to make out where it sucks it in from??
I personally think it's drawing air from the bottom after seeing the disassembly manual..

Macs are old news, you pay about $2000 or so for a basic macbook pro with less than 1/4th the power of the G73. I think the ipad has finally been a large enough shock to the system to disway some of the brainwashed mac fans.

It pulls air from the top, the bottom is just open vents for the ram and hdd's to get some air. No need for smoke just a piece of thin light paper place it near the vents and see if there is a vacuum. I'll test that next time I have the unit out and running.

I do not have any of those expensive tools for color calibration, but I can tell you that while the screen is pretty to look at that its not suitable for anything that requires color accuracy.
