Re: * Asus N61JQ Owners Lounge *
well i read waaaay too many pages on this forum but hey it helped me a lot, and reinforced my initial decision that this laptop is the best you can find for this price point. I dont expect a perfect laptop at such a reasonable price. At $969 on amazon i will be purchasing the x1 soon and taking advantage of the extra year warranty through a visa program, so like the a1 i will be covered for 2 years which is a long enough time for me.
Thanks to everyone that contributed to this forum ill be sure to check back with any questions/concerns once i buy this thing and use it.
Edit: 1 quick question for anyone taht used the visa signature warranty extension program, did this extend the ADW warranty along with the parts and labor warrnty?Last edited by jwolfenberg; 19th March 2010 at 09:16 PM.

Re: * Asus N61JQ Owners Lounge *
Bad news everyone the 9 cell battery for the G50VT-X5 does not work for this laptop. While it does connect, it sticks out the back in such a way that it is impossible to open the display. I've uploaded images

Unless they have a different 9-cell battery design there is no way the 9 cell will work in this laptop.Apple 13" MBP i5 | 4GB DDR3 1333 | 320GB 5400 RPM
ASUS G50VT-X5 P7450@2.13GHz | 4GB DDR2 | 320GB SATA 7200RPM | GeForce 9800M GS | 15.6" 1366X768 LCD

Re: * Asus N61JQ Owners Lounge *
that's a bummer. If that means a battery that will prop up the laptop at an angle, at least it'll mean extra airflow under it.

For stuck pixels try UDPixel. It's a program which helps you find dead/stuck pixels and also attempts to fix them.

It's worth a try before sending it back to ASUS.

Re: * Asus N61JQ Owners Lounge *
I wonder if anyone could keep track of all the latest drivers for the system, with a link on the first post. It seems the drivers are not all on the Asus n61jq section on their site but rather scattered around and found only by looking at individual components (ie VGA). Thanks to anyone who can.

Will the warranty on the X1 be voided if I upgrade to a larger capacity hard drive and upgrade the ram?

Here is a site that has both part numbers linked to the same battery.

Honestly I don't think they've designed or built the 9-cell version for this laptop generation yet.Apple 13" MBP i5 | 4GB DDR3 1333 | 320GB 5400 RPM
