Right to the right of the trackpad is warm, most likely from the HD activity. vent on the left is pretty hot!

    3. It'll probably be more than 2 hours... my best guess would be somewhere between 2hr 15min to 2hr 30min
4.Yes, the Direct Console 2.0 is on all G50 notebooks.

Did anyone get the 9 cell battery? How far does it stickout on the back?

How much more battery time do you get? Worth the $155 more?

It will stick out the back its the same battery as the M50, its a 50% bigger battery so you can estimate 50% more time, the cost is up to you and if you need it or not.

Couple of things from a G1S-B2 user thinking about upgrading:

    1. I noticed an S-video cable in package. Where is the S-video Output port?

    2. Anyone tested the Parallax 3D Screen? Sound great, but does it work as good as it sounds?

    3. Is is still possible to "underclock" the cpu via power4gear (for silent operation?)

    4. With 2 hard drives in Non raid mode, does the laptop (if configured correctly) idles the hard drives independently?

    5. Does XP recognizes all 4GB of ram? (or XP-64?)

    6. Has anyone installed Hackingtosh (OSX86) on it?

Thx in advance, sorry for the questionnaire
