Re: M51Sn: Review & Owners' Lounge
Weird. That has always worked for me.
There is also the alternative of using ASUS Notebook Keys (developed by a user, linked from the Info Booth under Miscellaneous), which offers you more control over what the hotkeys do. I'm not sure it works in Vista.Notebooks: ASUS F6Ve --- W7Sg --- V6J --- M6BNe

Re: M51Sn: Review & Owners' Lounge
ATK hotkey takes care of intercepting the hotbuttons (like the touchpad on/off) and the Fn+F* key combinations, and launching the appropriate actions.
You can uninstall it from Add/Remove Software.
Then, you can go to support.asus.com and see if an updated version has been released for your model. If so, download that, otherwise, use the CD version.
Reinstall whichever version is newer.
That hopefully takes care of the problem.
PS: Not knowing a lot and asking questions is perfectly OK. That's one of the reasons why this forum is here.

EDIT: isnt there some sort of program included with ASUS laptops so that you dont have to go to their site looking for new drivers to install? cuz i honestly dont know which ones to choose, i just chose the one at the very top with the latest date and installed it and it asked me to uninstall something...now i dont know what to do =/
EDIT: also is there any programs out there where you can control your fan speed on the ASUS M51sn?Last edited by jlasa06; 25th July 2008 at 06:28 PM.

There is ASUS Live Update but you're better off downloading stuff manually. Live Update is very buggy, sometimes has memory leaks, and usually updates nothing at all.

Look for an EXE or MSI file, maybe the hotfix has separate folders for various languages, then go to en-us or us or en to install, and search for the EXE or MSI there. There also may be OS-specific EXEs, make sure you use the one for your OS.
