Re: V1S-A1 benchmark and games
On that note I take it that you ran the tests with the system plugged into the wall. If you have the time and the desire would you give it a try running it off the battery (and see if there is a preformace difference, or negative impact of having it enabled in that situation as well)?
With the processor speed stepped to a slower setting, and some of the other components slowing down to conserve power maybe it will might provide something of worth.
The link posted by matti shows little (20 minutes) to no benefit to battery life, but it doesn't mention anything about preformace being tested while on battery power.
BTW: Ken, thanks for sharing your test results with us.

Re: V1S-A1 benchmark and games
Ken: I was looking at the right side image of the V1s, and it seems to like using an expresscard would actually block both the card reader and the eSata port. What is your opinion? This is the controller card I plan on ordering.

Yes an ExpressCard 54 will block both of those ports. Your card only blocks the card reader.

Re: V1S-A1 benchmark and games
Doh! Thats a severe turn off
Really stupid design. Why didn't they put the expresscard slot on top? As a lot of expresscards actually build out and UP, I'd say that would be a much better solution.
Luckily, I'll mainly be transfering memory card stuff to an eSata, and not to the firewire disks.
