Re: ~VX2S Owners' Lounge~
Hi, can anybody help me with my BIOS login issue? I seems to have forgotten my own BIOS password. Is there any program out there that can overwrite the BIOS to default setting hopefully resetting its password or do I need to physically rip out the BIOS battery (if there is any) from the motherboard to reset it? Please help thanks.
p/s: I've tried accessing the mainboard from the back panel but couldn't see any BIOS battery or similar chipset. And I couldn't manage to unscrew the whole mainboard out from its upper casing (where the keyboard and mousepad are). Please teach me if there is a way to take out the mainboard successfully from its casing, I might be able to find the CMOS battery on the upper side of the mainboard.
Thank you very much.

Re: ~VX2S Owners' Lounge~
Hello,
My VX2S no longer boots. I read, earlier in this forum, the same symptoms - it starts and you hear the Lamborghini sounds, then nothing but a blank screen and it shuts off when you hit the power button. It appears to be a bad motherboard and I have not been able to locate any new ones for sale -a few used ones of which I am leary of being in the same situation again soon.
Anyone have suggestions?
Also, if I can't find a new motherboard, I was thinking about trying the " reflow" process with the old one - any comments about that?
Thanks

Re: ~VX2S Owners' Lounge~
If you're going to reflow the whole m/b, I'll probably suggest that you do it with the GPU card first and see if your system will boot up again?
I had the same symptom as yours previously and all I did was changing a new GPU card.
I should think you should still be able to find GPU card for our VX2s online, browse through some old postings and you might get some idea where.
BTW, do you know how to rip the whole M/B out of the notebook casing's? I have only managed to rip the bottom cover out totally but couldn't manage to detach the M/B from its upper casing. Couldn't find where else the screws that is still mounting the M/B to its upper casing or maybe there are other ways to do that. Please shed some light on this problem as I need to get to the CMOS to change it's battery.
Thank you.

Re: ~VX2S Owners' Lounge~
Thanks for that direction. I have noticed on other posts references to bad display cards, it seems to me that the Lamborghini uses an Nvidia card - I will follow up on that.
I have not taken the MB out yet, but from some YouTube videos I watched I think the key board has to be removed in order to access the screws holding the MB. As I recall, some tabs at the top of the keyboard need to be pried.
Hope this helps and thanks for the tip on the graphics card.

Re: ~VX2S Owners' Lounge~
Has anyone successfully managed to control the laptops fan?
Special ACPI drivers may be necessary to let speedfan or some other program to control it.

Re: ~VX2S Owners' Lounge~
I´ve tried to install the Win 8 Release Preview but it keeps telling me that the CPU isn´t compatible. As far as I can tell the problem is that the NX-function of the CPU is inactive. Normally it should be possible to activate it through the BIOS but ASUS seems to have ignored that function. Has anyone any ideas on how to proceed?
Regards
Jocke

Re: ~VX2S Owners' Lounge~
Bios for 4gb x64?
Theres is an unofficial 303 bios for the v1s that fixes the problem with 4 gb in x64 os.
Would this work on the vx2s?
Would be nice to finally get all 4 gb up and running at full speed!

Hi, are you seeing 4gb in task manager?
System running fast and smooth?
I am also using bios 301, but system is really slow unless I use msconfig to reduce memory... Boot time is more than 4 mins if I dont.
