EVGA! Nice to see you again. Yes I got it fixed. You were right, the chip from the Netherlans did not work. I ended up having to send it to Asus. I was backed into a corner. Hope everything is wel with ya. Thanks again for all your help.

Scott. Hey I have another request for the G74sx. The ram addition as well as GPU fan. What program are you useing to do this? Again thanks for all your work. I am sure a lot of people on here feel the same.
    Thanks

Had I seen this Post before doing so I'd still be alive.
Options in the menu where it resides should be hidden in any new mod releases.
Be nice if someone with the ability to reprogram there bios chip would take time
to note/test what is safe and what is not so a new release can be made with all unsafe options hidden.

Ya I know it would probably take a lot of time and testing, if I had the means I would be more than glad to.
I have nothing but time so that isn't a problem. lol To much time on my hands is probably what gets me in trouble as it is.

Not sure what your point is with this post? In my post it links to the same page you linked to.

By the way its "CPU Flex Ratio Override"

I'm having problems with the modded 53SW bios.
I connected a broken mini PCIe SSD via USB and set it as boot priority #1 in the bios. The laptop now turns on, the LEDs for the HDDs light up, the keyboard lights go on and the drives start working for a sec. Then the drives stop, the keyboard lights go off and it stays like this forever. The screen is off all the time. When I plug in a USB stick it just blinks once and turns off. Taking out the bios battery didn't help yet. I unplugged the laptop while I worked my way through to the biosbattery. After 1 hour without bios battery and everything unplugged nothing changed... Plugging or unplugging the SSD... pressed all buttons on startup... nothing helps.
What could have damaged the bios?? I didn't change anything else but the boot priority.
I don't think it happened because the bios is modded but who knows, so I post it here.
Is there a chance to reflash the bios?
zxTheWolfxz, how is your laptop? Were you successful reviving it yet?

Just installed the rev 213 version 5 on my G73jh. Using the new options in the bios I tried to limit my cores to 2, disable HT, and disable turbo boost. Windows 7 task manager and cpu-z seem to indicate however that I still have 8 threads running. Does anyone know why this is?

BTW turbo boost monitor inidicates that turbo-boost is off
Still, Task manager should only show 2 cores not 8 cores.

Props to scottdrmeyers. I flashed the BIOS on my G73JH and it opens up a whole new world. Now I'm seriously considering upgrading the CPU 920XM and GPU 7970m soon. Thanks

It's always a risk flashing your BIOS. The best way to do it is use a thumb drive formatted to FAT32 and use ASUS ezflash utility in the BIOS. DO NOT use NTFS format as you will likely brick your laptop. Make sure you have your AC adapter plugged in as well.
