Re: Need help with G73JH, no video, won't POS
Hmmm, my specific problem the capslock and num are on and cannot be toggled.
I just tried a CMOS drain by removing the mobo battery. Now the laptop doesn't get power at all. Going to disassemble again. Getting good at it now, only takes me 25 minutes.
Ok, got it back to "normal" might have been a loose +positive connection with the CMOS battery. I'm leaving it apart now since I've figured how to boot it without the case.
What I've noticed in my tinkering is that the CPU copper heat tubing is getting warm, but the copper tubing for the GPU is cold. Sounds like video failure. It might be a few days before I source a new card...

Re: Need help with G73JH, no video, won't POST
This happened to me when I tried to reseat the SATA connector to the motherboard (Was getting intermittent boot problems: disappearing hard drive). When I reassembled it, I got the same symptoms. Turns out that the RAM module on the DIMM slot that is inaccessible via the back panel needed to be reseated properly.
Just sharing my scary experience.

Re: Need help with G73JH, no video, won't POST
Same problem for me.
Blue lights in all buttons, blue led under screen lights on, keyboard lights up, no screen, no post, no beeps, no nothing...
Could someone post a link to the spare part (GPU)?
I do have a tube of IC7, do I need anything else to replace the card? Where I live it´s very hard to come by supplies.

I could use the part # info as well.
And I've never disassembled my unit before, nor do I have any clue how to get to the reset button.

Re: Need help with G73JH, no video, won't POST
After searching the web I´ve only found this:
New Asus G73JH video card (ATI 5870m) | eBay
Is this the original card?
Does anybody know a different vendor/store?

I don't know a different vendor, but this is indeed the G73JH 5870 in the picture, i would recognize that fat 5870 anywhere.
