    Default G series Hackintosh experiences

So instead of having a gazillion threads popping over the gaming forum about running OS X on an Asus G series as this seems to be a topic that will get popular, i'm creating this thread as a place to request help, share experiences, etc. If you want to make a fully dedicated guide by starting a new thread, that is fine, you can also post it in this thread and i'll add a link to the guide's post in this post to keep things easy to find. If i ever forget to add something here, let me know.

Also note that even if we started allowing hackingtosh discussion, discussion of any kind of piracy is still forbidden. You will have to use a legitimate version of OS X, but given how inexpensive OS X is, that won't be a problem.

    List of common problems:

If any of you encountered problems/incompatibilities, let me know so i can add them on the main post as it will help people even before they get started. I think i recall something about problems with Intel wireless adapters for example when i read on hackingtosh a couple of years ago.

i thought having apple OS on a computer was against forum rules? I think its a dumb rule but i could have swore a long time ago that was so.

The rule about that has been changed very recently. I would never have created this thread if it was still against the forum rules.

Here is the post about it: You can now discuss "Hackintosh" As Charles said, have at it.

I was curious about this but apparently the Intel wireless card doesn't work? Kind of defeats the purpose for me unless someone can confirm otherwise.

That is what i read as well and i'm awaiting some confirmation on this. I think the recent cards for macs were Atheros chips so maybe a high end Atheros would work just fine and the high end ones are truly good compared to the crappy ones Asus often uses.

Haven't added it to the main gaming sticky, but i will get around to it not to worry. I'd prefer keeping one sticky in the gaming section, but i'll make sur eit gets enough visibility in the main sticky.
