Default G73, fresh reinstall, GPU not working properly

    Hello,

I have my G73JH for three 2 years now, and decided to do a fresh reinstall.
I did all the usual - format, win install, latest driver install, bios 213 (which i installed yesterday, and everything worked fine).

However today, after i was finished, i noticed that video is stuttering while playing, cant play youtube at 1080p, and all monitoring software is showing GPU usage as 0% and GPU clock as 700Mhz always - it doesnt change a bit...

What couldve caused it and how to solve it?

(Im using bios 213 and the newest drivers from ATI site, and everything worked fine (same drivers), before win reinstall)

    Thank you!

    Hmm, weird...

My windows aero didnt work too.

I ran windows experience index, and although i scored less than before reinstall (7.1 in both), but my video is working fine, and GPU is no longer at 0%....
But GPU clock is at 500 now...

    How did that happen?

Any ideas what happened/what is wrong with my freshly installed windows??

    Thanks!

Even my CPU seems to be slower than normal....

How can I test both CPU and GPU to be sure?
And how to fix my problem?....

Did you install all of the drivers, or just the correct ones from the disk?

Also, what are your temperatures at? If it is too hot you could be getting throttled.

May be the new ATI drivers bottlenecking your GPU , mine aero index is 6.7 both. Im using latest ATI drivers.
Cant play cod 4 in my g73jh , laggs alot maybe an driver issue,
or is it because Im trying to play games with 65W power adapter.

New ATI drivers worked fine for me the day before.
Temps are the same as they were.

I installed the selected 14 or so drivers from the disk (the ones that are recommended in this forum)

What could affect the performance from the software, driver side on a fresh machine? How could i test to see if there is a definite performance drop (or maybe its just me being crazy )

500 is the clock speed for UVD in the VBIOS I am using ( a slighly moded version of Chastity's legenday OD2). Video BIOS Version: 012.020.000.032.038352 according to HWinfo64

Were you playing videos when it went to 500 if so this is normal. Did you have the GPU over clocked (with AMD overdrive or other program) before the fresh install?
It should clock down to 400/1000 @ .95 on AC when just browsing

@phemark: what vBIOS are you using right now? make sure that you're using the 93vBIOSa or Chastity's OD2 as JOSEA mentioned. Also, make sure that on Catalyst Control Center, you are using Maximize Performance on Power Play.
