Well the hardware ID is "sec314c"
If that's not the part number just let me know how to find it and I'll tell uG53SW-XT1 - Matte 15.6" 1080FHD - i7-2630QM - 8GB DDR3 - Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD & 640GB HDD - GTX460M - 4x BluRay - CM Storm Inferno - Edifier S330D

Re: ASUS G53SW Screen problem
when i received my laptop from asus after an rma, they usually give me a paper that lists what parts have been changed and part number as well as the serial number. the only way i can think of finding out is looking at the rma online.
Asus G53SW - A1
i7-2630QM
8GB 1600MHz
GTX 460M 1.5GB
Samsung 840 Pro 512GB

Re: ASUS G53SW Screen problem
This is all the paper says
"Replaced parts: LCD TFT 15.6' FHD LED(A+)"
And as far as RMA status online goes, this laptop's RMA was never viewable onlineG53SW-XT1 - Matte 15.6" 1080FHD - i7-2630QM - 8GB DDR3 - Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD & 640GB HDD - GTX460M - 4x BluRay - CM Storm Inferno - Edifier S330D

Re: ASUS G53SW Screen problem
Hey essence,
I woke this morning and found the same problem as yours on my laptop, G53SW A1. But unlike yours, I can't see the red lines when I turn off my notebook. It's just the normal black screen when its powered off.
Also, the lines just seem to be increasing and decreasing in size with a mind of their own.! Is the problem same/similar to yours? And this should be covered under my 1 year warranty, right?
Please let me know if this is the same similar problem as yours. I am planning to send my laptop on Tuesday (I have created a RMA). How many days does it normally take for you to get your laptop back.?

Re: ASUS G53SW Screen problem
That actually sounds like a connection issue and they're really good about their warranty so I wouldn't worry about it. My issues lasted more than 1 year and they did resolve it for me so just give them a call and let the tech know what's wrong with your laptop.

Re: ASUS G53SW Screen problem
Thanks for the reply! I have got a RMA number for it and I will be sending my laptop this Saturday. Let's see what they do with it!
Any idea how long do they take to send it back to me? Also, what are the chances of them changing my notebook's screen?
I seem to have the 'exact same' problem as yours now! Its been a 4 days, and the re streak doesn't budge.

Re: ASUS G53SW Screen problem
I actually don't remember in total but they ship 2-day Fedex to and from so it depends how long it takes them to decide what to do with your laptop
If it's the same problem then they will have no choice but to change the screen~ Just hope for a nice screen

Re: ASUS G53SW Screen problem
Hey,
I got back my laptop, with my screen replaced. They gave me a nice matter finish screen I guess the same as yours! Anyway, everything seemed fine, till I realized they didn't send my battery!
I have called and registered a case with them and they told me that they will get back to me soon. It's been two days and I haven't heard from them. What are the chances of me getting my battery back? Has anyone had the same problem?
