Notice that I said "a little more reasonable". The previous pricing I had seen on the G55 was around $1500 which was outrageous in my mind... I tried asking how that's possible when I can get a $1500 Sager with much more power and I got replies with how a Sager will end up almost costing the same.

$1300 is better than $1500. I've been looking into multimedia/gaming laptops recently and that isn't terribly expensive for what you get.

The GenTech guy posted a comment saying the 670M was delayed again till mid May. I guess the 670M'ers will have to wait till June...

Exactly. The Clevo P150EM isn't really tripping my trigger either. I don't care about aesthetics that much, but those machines are pretty bleak. Almost as bad as the Lenovo Thinkpad line. At least the ROG has a little style to it, with some nice bells and whistles. I've also heard the fans on the P150EM run really loud which is a turn off. I was also looking at the Asus N56 but that thing might only have a GDDR3 GPU and will only maybe be $100 cheaper than the G55.

I was on xoticpc and saw the weight of the G75 was 8.7 pounds and the G55 was 8.4 pounds. How is the G55 only 0.3 pounds lighter and not at least 1 or 2 pounds less?

Microcenter has them in store with the 670M at 1499 - not the best price I have seen but still, at least its in stock.

Some (not confired) news about the 2nd drive for the G55.
It seems that a 2,5" HDD + mSATA SSD is possible.
The reseller who told me that waits for the confirmed info from ASUS germany.
I also found a german reseller where you can order a
    G55VW-S1024V
    with 128GB mSSD + 750GB HDD.

sometimes if 2 machines have exactly the same specs, its not surprising that the 15" is more expensive than the 17". 1080p on a 15" would mean much higher ppi(points per sq-inch) compared to the 17" and probably making the screen more expensive.

EDIT: strictly not comparing the asus in bestbuy with the one in amazon as they dont have the exact same specs. juz saying in general.

i guess at least this gives us an idea that the internals of both models are roughly similar. if its 2 pounds lighter, then we should be asking what is it missing compared to the g75 xD probably for these models, the xtra chasis size of the 17" might be the 0.3pounds difference compared to that 15".

but we wont fully know until someone gets a g55 and tears it up lol.
