Yeah, it being under 75W when two other will be under 100W makes sense. I guess they can "settle" with 660M although I`m a bit sceptical about the 128bit vs 560s 192 bit. They must atleast be shure that it will be a "good" upgrade from the 560M before slapping it inside a Ivy laptop and calling it a day

No I don`t have the chart. I remember reading about it somewhere in this forum. Can`t remember where. Maybe the Sager forum?!

EDIT: Is this it? A "minor" typo with 675M and 680M with TDP

Here is another one I stumbled over..
    11000 in 3DMark Vantage with 660M. 560M scores 9150 in average (P result. P GPU with 560M is 8000)
Lol there was no way Nvidia's mobile GPU's were going to come out before AMD's die shrink, AMD is roughly 8 months ahead, which is probably why we're going to see 670m/660m first, it was rumored that Nvidia wouldn't be able to launch the 680 first due to yields.

I don't know but I think NVIDIA is on track for a Q2 2012 release of the GTX 660M/670M.

    GT 630M link:

    ASUS K43SM and K53SM - LaptopVideo2Go Forums

If it's true then NVIDIA knows where the market is going and targeting mainstream/high end laptop GPU's first to compete with tablets and other mobile devices.

Desktop users can wait but mobile laptops users have so many other options come this Q2 2012 with Android 4.0 already released and Windows 8 tablets on the way.

High end laptop buyers aren't interested in tablets. Android or otherwise. Windows 8 is still a long way away and laptops with 660m/670m are such a small segment of the market compared to the laptops with the 520m's and integrated graphics.

Thought the new G55 gpu would come with 3G of ram, but even the 17" model isn't going to have it, according to that posted chart.

    Anyone find that disturbing?

Thinking of saving money and going with a G53.
Really like the G74 but it's just too big for all around use.

Wonder what the unit prices for the GPUs will be?

I wasn't talking about high end GPU's just Kepler in general. Laptops in general are selling a lot more than previous years but Tablets are also taking away a lot of the market share for mobile internet devices including laptops.

So for NVIDIA and AMD to get newer mobile GPU's on the market sooner always means a good thing where as for desktop users it really doesn't matter since desktops are all pretty much user serviceable and upgradable by the user and not exactly threaten by mobile devices such as Tablets maybe only laptops.

Anyhow, I'm pretty much interested in AMD's Trinity offering too. I'm almost certain the the highest end Trinity APU will have an option for a discrete AMD GPU (most likely HD 7750M) which should just a fast as the GTX 660M and maybe if AMD gets Hybrid CrossFire right then there's a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months for the mainstream gaming laptops market.

I'm planning on buying a laptop by April ideally, but what are your thoughts on a G55 price and how big do you guys think the g53sx/g74sx will drop in price?

    (or clevo's with 560m atm)

If i had to guess, the G55 will be a direct replacement for the G53 in several ways, as it will likely be the exact same price (or perhaps slightly less expensive).

The G53 Might drop a couple hundred bucks when the 55 Hits, but these machines are in fairly low supply.. they might even be out of stock by the time the 55 hits the shelves.

So to answer your question. If you wait a little while, you might be able to pick up a 53 for a little cheaper.. but.. if not, just pay the full price and get the 55.

    You won't need 3GB for a 1080p display.

No way to be accurate, as its not out yet.

    Historically, they are about 1/2 the speed of the desktop part;

    If you take the GTX 570M and Compare it to the GTX 570 Desktop Card;

    Desktop / Mobile

    Shaders: 480 / 336
    Core Clock: 732 / 575
    Shader Clock: 1500 / 1150
    Mem Clock: 3800 / 3000
    Fill Pixels: 29 / 14
    Fill Textures: 44 / 32
    Bandwidth Ghz: 152 / 72
    Bus: 320 / 192
    Gflops: 1400 / 773

Basically.. a little better than 1/2 the power..

And that is repeated all across the lineup.. give or take..

In practical Terms, the current 580M is roughly as fast (slightly slower) as a bone-stock GTX 560 Desktop card.. and the 570M is about the same as a 555 GTX, and the Current 560m is about par with a 545 GTX..
