Yea, 2499 usd would be a mega big waste if it's for a G75... Go with Alienware instead.. Even the M17X with HD7970M is only 1899 usd...

lol i went with asus over aw for quality reasons.
And there is a storefront in my city so quick repairs and upgrades ect. plus its my first gaming laptop, i might put my big boy pants on and step up to alienware an a few years when my G75 is obsolete.

Im terms of quality and stability Asus > AW every day.

I'm using an ASUS laptop and I don't really see the quality and sability you meant . Sudden shutdown after GPU is overclocked, easily bricked BIOS update... So far I've been lucky that I haven't had a BIOS brick the past 4 flashes. Well the 7970M in AW is "only" 2 times faster than the 670M in the G75 . Later on other manufactorers should have the choice of 7970M as well, but ASUS will never get there. Your choice.
