Just follow the instructions. Some people were failing because some tard left some files that should have been deleted before making the zip, and it was mucking up the activator. I just cleaned up the installer so it will work properly.

1. Hotfixes

First things first, on the G73SW driver CD there were six recommended Microsoft Hotfixes for Win7 x64. They are uploaded here:

Install them one by one. After installing them all, reboot. (No need to reboot after each hotfix.)

What are these hotfixes for? I have a G53JW. Do I need to install these hotfixes? I have Windows 7 without service pack one installed BTW.

Hello, I ordered G73SW-A1 Laptop and am planning to do a clean install once I get it so first of all thank you for this great thread, very useful and time saving. I do have a few questions I hope someone can answer for me please:

1) I will be using a Windows 7 *WITH* SP1 already integrated so would I still need to install the 6 Hotfixes mentioned in the first post or are they already included in SP1?

2) I have asked to upgrade to the Intel Advanced-N 6200 wireless card - the drivers I downloaded from the link don't include the Bluetooth too, right? I should install both the intel drivers as well as the bluetooth driver [from Asus site], right? just need to make sure

3) I downloaded the RealTek Audio driver from the first option - What about the Creative THX_MUI driver on Asus site, don't I also need to install this in addition? I want the best possible audio sound and volume and not sure if THX is needed.

Does anyone experience 3D Vision settings reset?
Everytime I reboot I have to go Stereoscopic 3D settings and set display type from "3D Vision Discover" to "ASUS 3D Vision Laptop", otherwise I see 3D picture with red/cyan colors for anaglyph. Not for 3D shutter glasses.
Tried running wizard, still it resets settings upon rebooting.

I would try resetting to defaults, and then rerun the Wizard

As it turned out, its NVIDIA driver bug.

The settings keeps resetting to defaults for some users too.
Will stay with 275.33 for now

I made some modifications.

To get the activator to work properly for everyone, there should not be any existing .KGA files. They need to be generated for each machine new. The original source included 3 of them with his distro, and that little fact has caused many activation attempts to fail, as nobody knows to delete them first.

I believe I mentioned this factoid in the original thread about this. And still noone ever cleaned up Activator1.7z. Until now.
