G73SW and G53SW: Latest drivers and everything you need for a fresh install.

Im not tech savy in the slightest, is it possible for me to do this, i am ordering a G73SW A1 and looking to get the most out of it.

Simple guide for installing NVIDIA drivers:

Run the installer, and select Custom install. Then select the tick box for "Doing a Clean Install". Then follow the prompts and reboot when requested. This will first uninstall the old drivers, reboot, then install the new ones.

Any idea how I install the newest Nvidia drivers? It just continues to tell me that it cannot find any compatible hardware. I installed the ones off of the Asus G53SW website and before the fresh install I just put the inf file off of laptopideo2go in the display.display folder but that no longer exists under the C:// after I did a full format and re install of everything. Any ideas?

I just recently did a full reinstall but now I dont have the option for the computer to just sleep rather then hibernate. What am I missing?

What? The computer hibernates when I close the lid but I cant select the option for it to just sleep.

What options do you have -- do nothing, hibernate and shutdown?
If that is the case try a differnet power plan or reinstall power - 4 - gear

I made some modifications.

To get the activator to work properly for everyone, there should not be any existing .KGA files. They need to be generated for each machine new. The original source included 3 of them with his distro, and that little fact has caused many activation attempts to fail, as nobody knows to delete them first.

I believe I mentioned this factoid in the original thread about this. And still noone ever cleaned up Activator1.7z. Until now.

can you be more specific on this. If i wipe my old audio drivers,do i have to install anything before or after the one you posted or them directly?
