Is your battery at 95%? It will stop charging around there to prevent overcharge - that's normal.

    Otherwise -

Is your DC jack loose? If you move the plug around gently does it wiggle around a lot?

If that's not it, try powering down, removing your battery and AC power, and let the machine sit with no power at all for 30 seconds or more. Then hit F2 at startup and reset to user defaults. If this doesn't clear it up, I want to suspect the battery, but it could also be a board problem. Unless you've happened to have 2 AC adapters that can't run the machine and charge it at the same time.

I reseted to default settings, that worked for about half an hour, its still happening I cant use and charge my laptop at the same time, any other ideas.

I removed the battery when the thing stabilized and it worked, but i had to reset the computer because it was getting slow, when it reseted, it turned of because of the power. BTW the light in the power adapter also starts glitching

Update: just took my notebook to a repair store, the guy said it probably was something with the mobo and that the repair ahogos cost between 50 to a 100 bucks depending on the damaged component

You should bring it to a local Asus ASP service center. They can get you an RMA and do the repair for free, assuming it's under warranty.

All they ask for is the Serial Number on the bottom of the laptop I believe. Also, it seems more like the AC Adapter is having issues or the connector on your laptop is not making proper contacts.

Never registered my N50, all they ever asked when i had to RMA it for LCVD cable issues was the serial number. No more questions asked. Got it back fixed the next week.

My Asus power supply is doing this. It started the same day the OP said his started doing that. The good news is that my two Targus 180W units work just fine. I guess something is screwed up in the end of my factory charger. I'll either have to cut the end off of it and solder a new one on or buy another Targus I guess.

    Edit:
I cut the thick rubber strain relief away from the laptop end of the plug by making a slit down it's length and rolling/peeling it off. The "inside prong" (most likely the positive lead) is a crimped connection and the crimp had broken in two. I soldered it back together, verified the 19Vdc with my meter, and put the strain relief back on with a few neat wraps of electrical tape. All is well again.

Good for you. In my case at the guys at the repair store told me it was something serious related to the mobo, and that they will reply with information about the problem on tuesday or wednesday, luckily I have kept my g50vt x5 with me, this is a hard lappy: it has hit the ground, I spilled water over it (had to order a keyboard replacement from china), somebody cut the power brick cords (I still use the same brick and I did something worse to the person that did it to me), the screen started flickering (fixed after a while), once it overheated (had to wait a few hours to use it again), and of course it has survived 30 videogames, terabytes of downloads (for real), this laptop is a fighter and a survivor of time, it is an extraordinary feat of engineering from the people at ASUS.
