ASUS G73, bios help, flashing help, bricked laptop help, crisis recovery help
HI,
I have an Asus G73 Jh best buy model, out of warranty.
I was on bios 209.
downloaded the 213 official bios.
transferred it to Usb flash drive formatted with fat 32
booted into bios, EZ flash.
EZ flash could not see the files. so i cancelled
still in bios i changed the asus fancy start setting.
then selected " save and exit"
Since then the problem starts.
When i push the power button:
1. all the blue lights , light up i.e power, twinturbo, splendid, stealth, capslock, numlock.
2. fans spin up
3. charger light, power light, light up
4. HDD spin up
5. No beep, no bios POSt, nothing on the screen.
Things I've tried so far:
1. Taken out battery, adapter cord, pushed the power button for 45 sec. no luck
2. taken out ram, hdd..........No luck
3. Cmos reset button on the base of the laptop......no luck
WHat should I do?????????????? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEElp please.
any suggestions? or I'm just left with a paper weight

I've heard about the crisis recovery mode and blind flash.. what are these?

From what you've said you haven't actually flashed the BIOS.
All you changed seems to be the fancy start settings.
Therefore you should be able to remove the CMOS battery while the computer is unplugged and without the main battery. Put it back after 10+ seconds and hopefully your G73 will boot again with default settings.

It is not guaranteed that the reset hole will actually reset the settings.

Not that I know of, it's in a very inconvenient location. It's located on the underside of the motherboard.

You can see it in the last two pics on this page here, it's the small silver circle on the left:

you could RMA it. Technically not your fault BIOS flash didn't work... its pretty much Asus's for having faulty parts in BIOS. Don't try to disaassemble it. Its really tough even if your'e technically sound.

Asusrog, I've had this problem when switch on fancy start.
Just remove your two HHD, like this you should have access to Bios typing F2.M18x i7 2630qm, CFX Hd6970m
