Re: Beta BIOS - Possible Missing Keystroke Fix
Three to six people complaining on a forum does not mean there is a computer brand problem. How many people own these computers that dont come on these forums because they dont have problems. I not saying there isnt a major hardware problem OR software clash problem but unless everyone has it then its somthing that is wrong with your guys computers. The GSOD was a G73 wide problem but not everyone seems to have a trackpad probem. Thats all I was saying and if I offended you it was not my intention.

Re: Beta BIOS - Possible Missing Keystroke Fix
I RMAed mine last month for a different issue related to sound hardware. I requested that the keyboard missing keystrokes be addressed as well. They replaced a lot of things and my touchpad is probably crazier than all of yours since I applied the beta bios. If you RMA it for that you will be without it for a long time. They don't have a hardware fix for it and they can keep it until the cows come home swapping parts that won't fix this. I have a new palmrest, motherboard, LCD, audio board, and I replaced the keyboard myself. Still missing the occasional keystroke and the touchpad is unusable right now. Hoping for some luck with the next bios release.
I agree that it is nowhere near as widespread as the GSOD. For the record I would like to say that I never had a graphical glitch of any kind on any driver or vBIOS including the stock one that shipped with the computer. I did have to repaste at one point but even when it was overheating I never had a GSOD.
Now this trackpad/keyboard on the other hand is driving me to drinking.

Re: Beta BIOS - Possible Missing Keystroke Fix
I really find it weird that this seems to be a problem that only some people have. I can't tell if I have missing keys because I am not very fast when it comes to typing but my touchpad is rock solid. I even tried the things you guys said would cause it to go crazy and nothing goes wrong.

Re: Beta BIOS - Possible Missing Keystroke Fix
As with anything else, there will always be sample variation, and some people will not have the problem.
However, the fact that enough people (sorry, more than six too) have made mention of it, shows that it is an issue, even if it isn't widespread. I think of it like the temp issues - i have none, but others talk about having to do a repaste because of quality issues.. i have no doubt it could be a similar issue with the trackpad.

Re: Beta BIOS - Possible Missing Keystroke Fix
I will also say that I think they have squashed the thermal paste bug. I still have my original GPU on a new motherboard. The temps are as good or better than my repaste so far and I have been lucky enough to have some time to play games lately. Lots of hours on their TIM and it's looking good.

Re: Beta BIOS - Possible Missing Keystroke Fix
That's because I sneak in at night while you sleep and repaste it. I also finished off your butter cookies.
