Re: How to Fix Your GSOD Blues
ok, found the newer version.
but did you change anything else but the frequencies and voltages?
i think im gonna try RBE. ive got SSDs in my G73 and ill try to make it run silent in office.
but i think i need to repaste then....

Re: How to Fix Your GSOD Blues
Chastity,
what voltages did you try and what frequencies? I have tested some. im running on 275 MHz and 0.85V but i dont know, it seems that the RAM makes a lot of the heat. i just get significant lower temps when i derease the ram frequencies. but then the flicker-problem appears. the ram frequencies have to be identic in every mode otherwise it flickers while changing the mode. or did you find a solution for this problem?
greetings

Re: How to Fix Your GSOD Blues
I keep the memory timings on AC the same for them, and battery mode is separate. If you look at my current fix_od2.rom, you'd see that.

Re: How to Fix Your GSOD Blues
ok, so there is no solution for the flickering. what a pity. i dont need my ram running @ 1000 mhz in 2D mode...
what is the lowest voltage you can go? im running 275mhz @ 0.8. ill try to decrease it some more...

Re: How to Fix Your GSOD Blues
Actually, R&D has found that downclocking the memory doesn't save much, compared to the core.
The voltage is hardwired for 1.15v and 0.95v

Re: How to Fix Your GSOD Blues
ok, conclusion:
1) i wont save neither power nor heat when i set the voltage lower because the only two possible voltages are 1.15 and 0.95, right?
2) downclocking the ram does not save power, but do you know if it produces less heat when it is downclocked?
3) the only possibility to reduce the heat is by decreasing the mhz, is that right?
...and thank you for your help!
