Re: [help Me] G73jh + Creative Driver
This thread contains a link to the original driver disk in ISO format. First remove whatever Creative and Realtek you have installed. Then install the ones from the disk. Then update Realtek to the latest. You should be able to enable the subwoofer.

Re: [help Me] G73jh + Creative Driver
My G73Jh + Creative problem. I am using fresh system 7 ULTIMATE x64, for ca. 5 months (coudn't stand y ATI driver update). For long time I used only Realtek drivers, but the subwoofer was playing poor. Now I'd like to install Creative addon. But every time I try to install Creative_Audigy_WIN7_32_WIN7_64_z10 I get"setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system". I tried to use Realtek 2.65 2.56 and 2.43, same .
I would't care much before, but now it's getting sort of obsession for me to make this f.. subwoofer sound smooth. HELP!!!!!!!

Re: [help Me] G73jh + Creative Driver
Exactly the same problem I have and been trying to fix for ages and find the only way to fix it is to use the original JH driver application disc.
If you have it just run the Asus program and install the creative software through the disc utility and not manually and it will install on top of the realtek driver and say you need to reset.
I have tried everything all type of manual downloads, different realtek drivers and the XFI stuff and that ^ is the only thing that works for me.
If you dont have the JH driver application disc you will need to download it from Chastity Driver application reference but it took me 2 weeks as its a bit slow atm
I could probably upload it for you if needby.

Re: [help Me] G73jh + Creative Driver
Another issue I found a while ago, after playing with an MB1 trial of the Creative software, there is a folder under Program File(x86) that needs to be deleted if you installed a different Creative version. For the life of me, I cannot remember the path, but it had something to do with InstallShield, and I assume it contains license info, hence why I personally had the problems with it. I spent roughly 2-3 days fighting with it (after work) and finally got it working after dumping that folder.

Re: [help Me] G73jh + Creative Driver
I see you got the M14x from work then
Yup I finally got Creative 1.0 installed over the latest Realtek drivers last night and the difference in sound is very noticeable once you tweak the Bass and EQ in the control panel and that little sub does indeed make a difference.

Re: [help Me] G73jh + Creative Driver
You honestly should use the Creative X-Fi software with the newest realtek drivers... There is a license file generator that needs to be run to create the license files under C:\ProgramData\Creative\SoftwareLock. Those license files are actually what makes the Creative software pick up the fact that it's licensed and working properly with the Realtek drivers.
I actually had some issues with the Creative software prior to a Windows reinstall, and to get the Creative software working properly, I removed the creative application then went into regedit and deleted all of the references to Creative related software/services. I then performed the Creative X-Fi software install, went to safe mode, ran the license key generator script, booted to normal mode, and everything worked flawlessly.
I'm currently running the Creative X-fi MB 2 software version which also includes THX support (although the Realtek chipset in the G73JH doesn't support it). The software has the same x-fi volume control applications though as the earlier Creative X-fi software and the same license file generator application works fine for creating licenses for the newest Creative x-fi software.
I'll definitely agree though, having Creative software installed makes things sound considerably better than just the base Realtek drivers even if getting the Creative software working takes a bit of work and understanding of how the Creative license files get generated.
I also didn't have to use the latest driver disk after I recently ran a re-install of Windows to address issues that somehow caused my Fn hotkeys to stop working properly. I installed windows fresh, updated my Intel chipset/mass storage controller drivers, installed a modified Realtek 2.62 driver, and then installed the Creative X-fi MB 2 package that I found. After install, I booted to safe mode, ran the software license generator, and rebooted to Windows. Everything worked perfectly.

Re: [help Me] G73jh + Creative Driver
@Dallers
Would you be so kind and upload both creative and realtek drivers from CD on RapidShare or whatever ? Would also be wise and very helpful for every G73jh user to write the link to these files with huge red capital letters in both this topic and the one you mentioned before! Would help many people!
