Asus G73jh GPU temp?
Hi all.
After playing crysis for 10 min, my gpu temp is 82 celsious. Is this Normal?
Also, idle temp is 60 celsious.
Very expensive laptop, want to make sure temp is at reasonable range.
thanks.

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?
10 minutes ins't really a good sample time from what I have seen. After a good bout of gaming it looks like low 90s is common.

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?
I wish mine ran that cool. Any modern game cranks it up well over 100 C. I've seen over 110 a couple of times.

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?
I was just running crysis maxed out at 1920 x 1080 for around 2h. Max GPU temps reached 84F with the thermaltake massive 23T cooler which I think is pretty good considering I have seen 90 earlier without cooler and running games for over 2h.

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?
Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that the cooling system is not a bit better. We r talking about two huge air vents on the G73. Isn't it supposed to keep the laptop cooler???? Had a G50 and G51 and temps were just way too high...result was BSOD. Thought of getting the M15x but touchpad is the worst in the planet.

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?
I played Crysis last night for an hour in The Resort custom map @ 1600*900 with Chaos6 Particle Mod, Reallifeses Mod, and I turned off bloom to zero and turned off blurr with everything else Very High.
My highest temperature was 77.
But I would not fret over 82. If it reaches 95 then I would be concerned.
Notebook component manufacturers make GPU/CPU etc with higher temperature tolerances as they know laptops run much hotter than desktops.

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?
Yesterday I posted my G73JH temps here, as my G73 has been running with both the CPU and GPU full speed for days, not hours.

While a cooler would be better, what's better than nothing is raising the back an inch off the desk can lower the temps a few degrees.ASUS G73JH-X1 owner and proud member of the 95 °C club

Re: Asus G73jh GPU temp?
Ziddy, I know you posted elsewhere (few threads below, the GDDR5 thread) about your testing with furmark etc and temps..do you still stand behind this "95" statement after your testing?
Reason I ask, is that last night I hit 95 for the first time and 76 on the CPU's (which Im never worried about bc the CPU's NEVER go higher than the 70's)...but I live in Arizona and last night was a hot one (sorry eastcoasters) and we didnt have the air on (just windows open) and obviously my temps while gaming were higher than usual...I reached 95....and I really dont think people should be scared about running up there...everytime I game...on the low end (if I have AC on, im at 89 and on the regular Im at 92-93 and last night 95)...I just want to reiterate to people that running even 95 is NOT an issue...these chips can handle 95 all day long...as well as the CPU...and we dont even stress them that way (unless you game 24hrs a day)
Heat is the enemy of just about all mechanical components in life....but with computer processor and GPU chips...constant heat actually fuses tiny cracks together and keeps the chips integrity solid!!! Why do you think some people bake their chips!!! and Im not talkin about rufflesLast edited by 780Cinco; 13th April 2010 at 02:26 AM.
