Re: Asus G73 Benchmark Thread
Interesting, maybe we can get the card to run at stock clocks at something like 1.05v though. Would be nice for temps and fan speeds.

Re: Asus G73 Benchmark Thread
I've only tested the undervolt at the Max battery clocks, not at the Max performance clocks, though it should work...
Edit: ok tried that, here's a screencap showing it running at 800/1100@1.05v

Not sure if there was a temp decrease.. Furmark caused it go upto 80 and then stay there once fans kick into high just like before, will have to test during gaming if it lowers temps..
Anyway it was all stable if anyone else wants to test it...
btw tried increasing the voltage on all the clocks to see if it would work.. didn't it just reverted back to factory clock.. nice to see there's a failsafe though..Last edited by kurtcocaine; 24th May 2011 at 11:34 PM.

Re: Asus G73 Benchmark Thread
@kurtcocaine: the Asus HD5870M card is hardwired for 0.95v and 1.15v settings. You can put whatever value in the vBIOS you like, it will only use those 2 values, whichever is closer. You can use a setting of 0.05v and it will still run.
Just because GPU-Z reports the lower voltage rating, doesn't make it a true reading.

Re: Asus G73 Benchmark Thread
You take my words.

I thought, all had began to understand this. The Asus 5870m is hardwired. It's an axiom.
The VR just knows the 2 values (or get it). It's dumb.
The stock card voltages can be adjusted in a small range. Imo 0.80-1.15. I had tested this in a lot of hours.Asus G73JH-TZ207V ► i7-740QM • 8GB • INTEL G2 160GB • FHD • Radeon 6970m 2GB

Re: Asus G73 Benchmark Thread
Anyone know what voltage the 6970M requires/runs at?

Re: Asus G73 Benchmark Thread
Greetings Everyone!!
This is my first benchmark experience.
Just a simple review of stock clocks and temps, a burn-in 10mn test at 1920x1080 and recovery stats after burn-in.
1 - A Fresh Start

2 - Stock Clocks Idle (internet usage only)

3 - 10mn Burn-In Test (1920x1080)

4 - 3mn After Burn-In

5 -11mn After Burn-In

Not too much...
I know. But I'll comeback later with more.
You´re all free to comment. Sugestions are welcomed.

Re: Asus G73 Benchmark Thread
All my benchies are with stock CPU speeds. No fsb or anything (you can tell by the cpu-score in the vantage bench :P)
The Vantage Score:

The Vantage Settings:

And finally the 3dmark06 score (with standard Cpu clocks, since I'm a total noob in OC'ing my cpu :P):

I tried the 850/1300 OC for the 3dmark06, but it crashed
. So I had to settle for 800x1300.
