Why can't they just create a top-level section of their DB called "Mobile".

I never submitted to notebookcheck before.

this is what they are working on now. thanks to sam and i, but...
the part that most of us are forgetting is..there are quite a few desktop computers using mobile gpus and cpus. they are trying to figure out how to define what is what...any ideas are more than welcome on this.

we we're working with them to get a global ranking system for laptops...hopefully they can figure out a way to make it work.

the other alternative would be...to get BIGGS database up and going....
i only said hwbot because it's in place and the guys are listening and open to ideas and suggestions on how to make it work.

plus...one click to all your benching marking scores...

    downfall...no gaming benchmarks...

If it has a keyboard and LCD built in, it's a mobile unit.

    just thought about this...
that's a whole lot easier said than done...
theres an xbox built into a laptop...does this make it a laptop?
it has a keyboard and lcd built in...

there was also a guy turning a laptop into a desktop...is it still a laptop? cant find his pictures, but he is around here somewhere.lol
and clevo already has a mobile desktop(mobile defined as a unit built for a car system). if they build it just like this xbox does it become mobile then?

I wouldn't over think it. If it marketed and sold as a notebook then it's a notebook. For example, the Hp Envy and the Clevo D900F would all be part of the same category regardless of the CPU.

A guy on my team built a PC smaller than my G73. No moving parts and external power adapter. Still it's not a notebook.

the thing is though Mandrake, their database uses hardware to make the distinguishment, and you only have the cpu and gpu to represent a system. So you have to figure out how to draw a line saying these gpus are laptops and these are desktops.Same for cpus - and as me and John pointed out, it is not that simple

You would need to seperate out those system classified as a notebook. So the top level of that DB would need to change.
