Re: Asus G50 - 260M Swap Procedure
thaks to" bottom plate" fisically the 9800m gs to install on g50v....
guys the g50v and g50vt are same!!!!!!!!!!!
the piece i buy at Asusparts
time ago we knew this because no one knew the bottom plate.
everyone knew the only heatsink that goes' above the vga board.
However, the bottom plate is the heatsink for VideoRAM OF 9800M GS, THE VideoRAM THAT IS INSTALLED IN THE DOWN OF VIDEO CARD.Last edited by antonio10n; 13th August 2010 at 06:57 PM.

Re: Asus G50 - 260M Swap Procedure
.... For the problem of the fan. I did some research .... And I concluded:
1. g51vx not Support The [a] [U quadcore] [/ U] [/ U]
2. the mobo of G50V and G51VX is the Same;
3. we find the BIOS of g51vx, but not update!!!the bios of the original system, not updating the bios, if I remember, in the Asus support there are 2 updates g51vx but we must first find pure bios !!!!!!!!!
4. The problem is finding a donor ... YOU KNOW? .... which g51vx.
Windows recognizes the GTX 260, thanks at the .....( Modded ".inf" file) so the operating system and ok, now is the BIOS ....
In many forums there are people who wanted to upgrade the G50V with a quadcore, the g51vx (the one with the same mobo G50V) only supports dual core and then the bios g511vx of a difference supports the 260m gtx
The mobo has g51j is different ...
The G50V and g50vt have the same BIOS, because the two video cards are a 65-nm and 512 MB VRAM. The name change on the motherboard of the system thank at the video card (Asus G50V and Asus series g50vt series) guys the name of the system is given by the video card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the bios is connected with the video card
GTX 260m for the problem is different
55nm 1giga VRAM ... so ASUS has created a new BIOS for supporting g51vx 55nm G92 chip 1GIGA VRAM.
Here's my solution.
G50V's BIOS does not support 100% the 55nm chip and 1 gig of VRAM !!!!!!
G51VX's BIOS supports it but we must FIND AN ORIGINAL BIOS (PURE) NOT UPDATED.Last edited by antonio10n; 13th August 2010 at 01:12 PM.
