    the LAN card did change from the g51. it is pci-e. are the people without BSODs playing on wireless or wired? (same for those with)

    for those with the bsod that can check, what if you disable LAN and try playing cod/borderlands on wifi?

    i used only wired, and they all happened when wired iirc.
    I use both wired and wireless. I use wired network while playing games such as borderland.

    Just wanted to add myself to list of users with BSOD.
    Game = Dragonica Online (no crysis as far as graphics.) Sometimes 30 mins in and other times I've lasted a few hours.
    BIOS = 204
    NVIDIA = 195.62
    Internet = USB to Nokia E63 smartphone using PC Suite.

    I do get slowdown right before the BSOD.

    Those with BSOD, have you try this:
    right click on the game, go to properties, and click run this program for compatibility mode for window xp sp3.

    You do that for all your games by default?

    I haven't even plugged in to my GigE network with this laptop yet, its access has been strictly 802.11n for all game/network use (am using the default Intel 1000 WiFi but will be putting in a spare 5300 when I have time - wonder if it'll make a BSOD difference - hope not). However, the ethernet port isn't disabled either.

    I also don't change compatibility mode for any games as they've all worked fine with Win7 to date.

    Thanks... in my case that would be a good thing as I haven't experienced the 0x124 BSOD even though I've tried. I might continue holding off putting the 5300 in there until Asus fixes this issue. Don't wanna mess with a 'good' thing I guess.

    nope. I don't use compatibly mode to play games. I was just wondering if it work for people with BSOD since window xp doesn't get BSOD.
