clean install of windows 7 with just borderlands installed and no asus stuff, 195.55 drivers, and hwmonitor/tmonitor running (turbo boost on), it took about 8 hours of borderlands in 2 runs to have it bsod.

ill try without turbo boost within the week and see how it goes.

I used 195.55 drivers and no asus stuff installed and I was getting BSOD very quickly in COD: World At War. I haven't played Borderlands, so I can't tell what is the situation in my case with this game, but Modern Warfare 2 runs OK.

I might get my hand on World at world on either Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on when I go see my friend. I will try it out and see.

How long does it take for you to get BSOD on World at war?

With high settings (1920x1080, all high) it took about 1 minute or less to get BSOD in World at War. It was when G51J was set to High Performance Profile. When i used for example Entertainment profile with max processor usage set to 50% BSOD appeared later, after couple of minutes or more. I really don't know what is the reason of this...

Alright everybody, I'm trying to troubleshoot my issue for myself (I too have gotten BSODs playing Fallout 3 but only twice, I dont get much time to game for over 1 hour at a time)

But my main issue now is my inability to launch steam without freezing my windows PC. Steam works in safe mode (with no audio obviously). Ryzeki had the same issue and tried an OS reinstall and that worked for him, but not myself.

Recently, I tried to test the double click settings within my Razer Habu config tray (this option should be available for the Razer config that came with the copperhead as well).
When I double clicked, the sound that was supposed to have come up (glass breaking), resulted in some sort of tripping sound where it froze my windows 7 just like steam did. I have tried this 3 times and so it was not merely a coincidence.

It appears my issues seem to be caused from audio drivers I guess? I know ASUS shipped the laptop with the Creative audio software and the realtek HD audio manager software.

For anyone who has a working steam on 64bit windows 7 with this particular laptop, did you change anything about the audio drivers or software that came shipped with the laptop? They seem to be what I think is the issue with my computer.

I just played 3 hours of World at War with 1920x1080 and all high setting with high performance profile. No BSOD!
I use Dox 185.85 driver. Maybe you should give that a try?

I really don't get it:/ I used Dox Drivers also but it didn't help - always BSOD. Only one time i could play WaW for more than 15 minutes. Maybe it's the issue of some drivers...

Anyone tried to play some game affected by BSOD (like Borderlands or COD4) right after clean install of Win7 without any programs or ASUS software installed?

I had also the problem of freezing in Windows, but recovery of Win 7 and new bios fixed that.

fuyuki, could You please list your installed software and drivers which You have on Your OS? I'm talking only about system or ASUS sofware, not Your games or private applications
