Are you replacing or upgrading your current drive?

Also have you considered an external burner? They have come down a lot in price lately.

replacing, it died on me and warranty doesnt replace it

If you can find out if a 700m's DVD+/-RW would work, I'll see if I can dig that one up. Dell sent it as a replacement, but the notebook went back before I could swap it.

The drive is physically a year old, however it has never been used. I'll see where it is and I'll be back.

Crap...it is a DVD-ROM/CD-RW only. Part number N5113.
