Default Is anyone selling an old laptop for around $50?

Yeah, I know it's not much to offer, but I need one for school. I hate macs :P Also I like modding things, and stuff. I'll buy as long as it has atleast 5 gigs of space, can run 98, and doesn't lag like a mofo while doing so.

You could check eBay... some laptops do get sold for below $100... that is, if you don't mind that they're in bad cosmetic shape. Because if you do, $200 is the very least you can expect to spend on a laptop, no matter how old and used.

I'm sure you can find quite a few p2's on ebay for around $50. But 99% of notebooks that old will have a dead battery, and what good is that at school?

You would be suprised. I bought a PIII computer not to long ago, for online purposes, no gaming or anything, and payed almost $500 for it. Ebay is cheap, but local shops still sell these things for pretty high.
