Can I use my T30 memory on T41?

I have a 512MB PC2100 CL2.5 NP DDR SDRAM SODIMM (IBM pn 10K0032) from my old ThinkPad T30.
IBM says T41 (23733JG with 1.5GHz cpu) should be upgraded with PC2700 memory (pn 31P9832).

Now, can I add the old memory to the T41?
I don't mind a small perfomance loss, but it must work without errors.

I'm not sure about laptops, when I tried this with a couple desktop systems they were very unstable and froze often. I wouldn't recommend it.
