Not yet. I ordered mine the day they were to hit the streets (Feb. 24). I'm now told they should arrive mid-March, and then shipped out to me. []

Anyone else?

I ordered Feb. 16th. For the last week the status on IBM's website says Inventory should be in stock within 2 weeks. Its torture spending $1500+ and have to wait a month to get it. :/

Bad news, just got a email from ibm. "We now estimate that all items in your order will be shipped by 04/14/2004"

I think im going to cancel the order. Anyone have any other suggestion on a super mobile laptop comparable to the x40?

You should start that topic in the general forum if you're looking for non IBM suggestions.

my X40 is due to arrive tomorrow (fri) from pc connection. []

if you'd like to stick with the X40, you might want to call pcconnection (or another ibm partner) and ask if they can best ibm's april delivery. but before you get too far along check out what (if any) cancellation fee you might have to pay ibm for walking away.... i've no idea, but you should know beforehand if it will cost you to go elsewhere.

i always figured direct ibm orders would arrive first...

good luck!

i got mine in two days. i bought from cdw, they have them in stock...and they were great. very helpful, great return policy...and cheaper than getting it from ibm. (i live in california and would have had to pay over $150 sales tax with ibm, but not through cdw.) you might want to consider the tax implications when making your decision.

btw, the x40 is great...everything except for the annoying ibm software...i wish they would get rid of that redundant hard drive and RAM hogging waste of attention. even the boot time slows because of it. my 4 year old t20 boots up as fast. other than that, no complaints.
