Default Scammed - suggestions for future....

I recently was scammed from a poster on here (IBMCOCA). Unfortunately, I assumed the seller was legitimate and I paid for it using Paypal. I was going to use my credit card but I heard that CC are starting to dispute chargebacks due to the frequency of chargebacks caused by scammers.

The reason for my post is this. It's a shame that we couldn't use a go between for sales/trades - someone who is trusted on here, like a moderator or frequent poster. The item could be shipped to the buyer after being inspected and money was sent to seller. The go between could be compensated with a 5% fee or something similar.

Maybe it would be more hassle than it's worth, I'm frustrated being out $740 and am venting.

I know it was stupid as soon as I did it. Live and learn. I've been able to avoid all the phishing and fraudulent emails out there - figures it would happen when I was trying to trust someone who said they were down on their luck and needing to catch up on debts they had.

I would be willing to act as the middle man but I'm sure that people would require someone who has more 'mud on their boots' on this forum.

Yeah I know how you feel. I was nearly caught, but then again I always check/read/inspect e-mails and what not like 3 or 4 times if everything is in order. I caught the so-called "glitch" teh second time around.I couldn't get it for the first time because of the too-good-to-be-true offer.

And yes, your concept is really interesting. Why not post it in the "Suggestions" Forum, the second last section, just above off-topic? That will catch some attention
