I just ordered a new laptop and I'll be looking to sell my current machine, a Compaq Armada m700. It has a P3, 1 ghz processor, 576 megs ram (64 onboard, 2 sticks of 256 pc-100) and a DVD/CD-rom drive. No hard drive would be included, as I'd like to keep the drive. Battery life is about an hour, depending on use.
This machine does have problems. Sometimes the screen display distorts with a bunch of nasty horizontal lines. Moving the display fixes this usually, but sometimes it requires a shut-down and a bit of a wait. Maybe its a heat issue, but I really don't know. I'm currently using this machine, and I'd say that 90% of the time it isn't a problem, but it does appear to be getting worse.
I've been using this laptop for about a year. I used
Windows XP pro for about 3 months, then switched to Ubuntu linux. This computer ran both operating systems quite well. Its not a speed demon, but it handles office applications and browsing quite well (all I ever used it for).
I'd ask for $75 (Make an offer, though).
