Default FS: HP zv5000z 15.4" 1680x1050 AMD64 LOADED!

Click here to go to the eBay auction page.

I've upgraded just about everything that can be upgraded in this machine. This is an expert's notebook, better than it was when HP delivered it.

Mobile-class Athlon 64 3200+ (CPU fan rarely needs to run, undervolts to 1.225V for near Turion ML power consumption), upgraded from the original DTR-class CPU, applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound of course
15.4" 1680x1050 res screen, zero dead pixels, HP doesn't sell screens this nice anymore (too expensive)
64MB nVidia GeForce 4 Go GPU
2GB PC2700 Crucial memory verified with MemTest86+
60GB 7200RPM Hitachi 7K60 HD
12 cell battery, MobileMeter still says 0% wear, 3-4 hours battery life in average use, 3 hours for DVD video
802.11g and Bluetooth
NEC 8X DVD+/-RW DL burner
WinXP Home
TWO power bricks
Ships in original box with original manuals, CDs, etc.

I've done a clean install of WinXP Home with all updates and assorted other goodies (Java, Quicktime, Acrobat, Firefox, etc). I made a Windows install DVD with updates as of February integrated, so if you need to do a clean reinstall you'll have a huge head start. The DVD even has the correct license key preset so you won't have to remember to look for the Microsoft tag on the bottom of the machine.

I can throw in a 64-bit Fedora Core 5 Linux DVD if you like. This notebook is very Linux-friendly.

If my poor eyes hadn't desired a larger screen (HP dv8000z 17") I'd have kept this. I hate to see it go but I've got bills to pay.
