Hey guys...1st time poster, long time reader...was thinking of selling my 5 month old laptop because im about to be done with grad school and dont need a windows machine for my engineering software anymore. Was thinking of switching to a macbook or macbook pro and was wondering how much i could get for my current machine. I have kept it in great condition, and the only flaw is a 1mm (very very small) scratch on the touchpad. I also have the hp expansion base.

What do you guys think?

I wouldnt of said that high... They sell for $500-$600 new with similar specs...

That ebay config is only $625

I understand the T7700 is a great processor and so is a 8400gs better than a x3100 , But is a basic comparison , although the HDD is higher capacity.

EDIT: same config , New for $999

Well i would say mine is better than the one on ebay. The processor is of higher class (Intel Core 2 Duo processorT7700 (2.40 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) vs. ( Intel Pentium Dual Core T2310 (1.46GHz/1MB L2 Cache)) and so is the video card, as you said. I don't think you can compare a x3100 to an 8400gs. The links you posted are for the low end 6500 while mine is the high end 6500. Having a 120gb harddrive doesnt make it a $600 machine. I was thinking of posting it for $1000-1200 with the expansion base, which runs around $100+ on ebay.

Yeah, Lite, you can't compare those two. $1000 would be a fair price without the dock.
