what would you do with a non-working one?

because my buddy's got an unbranded Clevo D900T (aka. Alienware m7700, Sager 9860, etc..) that he wants to get rid of.

It needs to have the LCD re-connected or replaced, he has not had time to check what the issue is.

thats does not sound like a motherboard issue.

a motherboard issue would not even boot the system (nothing on screen at all).

your problem sounds like you need to re-install or repair Windows... and you might have HD errors
- that can be fixed with CHKDSK C: /F
(using a Windows XP Recovery Console or Command Prompt in Safe Mode)
